Explanation Rubric

This is a Rubric for writing explanation texts. It will give children a clear understanding of what standards are expected when they are writing the opening statement, their explanation with words and diagrams, the explanation language they use, their closing statement and punctuation. Use the rubric, a great tool and learning resource, for scoring and giving levels of performance for specific criteria and use it with KS2 chidlren to set targets! After the Rubric is completed each child will be able to set their own targets for their next explanation!
